Performance Personal Training

In order to live a life optimized we need to move our body. Movement includes strength training, mobility and flexibility training and aerobic aka cardiovascular conditioning. Using our testing and evaluation as a guideline along with your stated goals we tailor a program for you incorporating all three of these movement principles.

Strength

Strength training is a vital component to overall health and fitness. We need to strength to function in daily life and simple tasks. Being strong not only makes life easier but will structurally support your body to help prevent common issues such as low back pain, neck pain and other orthopedic concerns that commonly arise in life. Strength training comes in many forms including bodyweight, barbells, kettlebells, and other tools. Whatever the tool(s) we have the knowledge, skill and experience to design a program to fit your lifestyle, needs and goals.

Mobility & Flexibility

Healthy functioning joints is a crucial component for short and long term health and pain management. This relates to longevity, posture, prior injuries and sport specific performance goals and thus is essential to our program methods. Using techniques from yoga, physical therapy, pilates, gymnastics and more we devise a program to help you stay within normal health and function of the joints, tendons, ligaments and muscles of the body.

Cardiovascular Conditioning

Hard to argue with the idea of having a healthy and strong heart and lungs. Cardiovascular health in terms of aerobic and anaerobic exercise is another crucial element in a long term health plan. We must add this as one of our priorities along with strength and mobility.

Integration of Elements

All 3 elements; strength, mobility and cardiovascular conditioning are equally important. However, it is true that one may be of higher priority for you based on your current testing and evaluation and/or goals. One of our goals is to teach you how to maximize with a minimal effective dose of each, hereby honoring your goals/needs. As you continue through life these will change and evolve both your needs (based off of testing and self-reflection) and goals. We will give all the basics you need to establish a strong foundation in which you can come back to as needed and adjust as such. The program is ever evolving but the basics once learned are just that and will more than suffice to keep you healthy if you stay consistent through time. All this will be taught to you in our time and sessions working together.
